Happy New Year from Simply Tarot!!
We all start the New Year by focusing on what we are going to try and change to make our lives more healthy and meaningful, by way of New Year Resolutions. We get fired up and determined, and the energy is running high. Sometimes we set ourselves goals that are hard to maintain or achieve and we cannot keep up with the challenge……then very quickly find ourselves feeling useless and lacking in willpower; we feel we’ve blotted our brand new copybook and the year has barely begun!
Let’s not set ourselves up for a fall, this year, and take each part of it as it comes; that way we can maintain the control we desire at a steady pace, and slowly and surely achieve those things we hope for, without burning out and having to focus on pulling ourselves up off the floor.
Instead of a monthly tarotscope for January, I have read for each of the four quarters of the whole of 2016 which might give you some ideas about which areas need your particular attention and what you can do to maximise getting the most from your life.
Below is your five card tarot reading, for the YEAR of 2016, using your own zodiac sign and my own tarot deck – The Tarot House Deck – just scroll down to find it.
I have used only the Major Arcana for the first four cards in the spread, which represent the four Quarters of the year ahead, and these will reflect the significant influences through those quarters which will benefit from careful consideration and input from you.
One card from the Minor Arcana represents your Aspiration/Focus for the coming year and I will interpret the suit firstly, with regards to that Aspiration, and then the number of the card as a secondary indication of your needs.
I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to comment and share with your friends.
Best wishes for a splendid and prosperous year ahead!
From Patricia at Simply Tarot!

Aries:
Quarter 2: Justice
Quarter 3: The Devil
Quarter 4: The Sun
This year is a year of getting your just rewards, focusing on the important people around you, as well as coming to grips with some things about yourself.
The Empress indicates a strong woman who is fearless when it comes to protecting and nurturing her family. She represents the need to focus on those around her to ensure that everyone has what they need to thrive and prosper. This is the paramount task in any successful family. Look to make sure there is plenty of support in terms of good food, emotional input and common sense. The Empress rules a kingdom…….you are in charge of yours. She is regal, patient, approachable, strong, loving and makes wise decisions. Aspire to be this way and the rest will follow as you see those around you become healthy, happy and strong.
We have Justice appearing in the position of the second quarter of the year. Perhaps you will be feeling that you are not being appreciated for all that you do. You may feel that people are being unfair to you or that things are not going the way you feel you deserve. Sometimes we are asked to be patient, to continue to be honest and fair every minute, every day, because if we do, then Justice will prevail. Speak openly and honestly (though kindly) and keep showing those around you that you are doing everything in the name of love, to ensure that Justice will be served in the right way for you.
In quarter 3 of the year, it is likely that you will need to specifically look at certain ways of thinking, or behaving, that are holding you back. The Devil represents imaginary shackles on a way of living that make you feel ashamed, that you are so manacled to them that you can’t free yourself. You can. You are in control of your mind and body – nothing, and nobody, else is – you just need to recognise this and come away from those things that stifle your beauty and ability to live life to the full. Generally, this card refers to addictions ( booze, smokes, gambling and the like) but it could also mean a lack of belief that you can make the changes you need, or the ability to come away from something/someone that is bad for you. You just need to recognise that you can.
If you maintain your patience, look to and remove those things that are hindering you, and you strive to make those around you happy and healthy, in the last quarter of the year you will realise what a long way you have come. The Sun is a very lovely and positive card which indicates that all has gone well for you. You are enjoying the harvest of wonderful planting and nurturing which you have worked at throughout the year. Well done! Take some time to enjoy this time of happiness and to appreciate all that you have around you. What a wonderful way to end the year. Everything you do will go well, so be full of happiness, gratitude and joy!!
Aspiration: Cups (Ten of)
This year, if you put effort into, and nurture your relationships, you will be blessed with a feeling of pure contentment, commitment from those around you, and happiness with everyone you deal with. Remember that love is patient and kind – nothing more, nothing less – and love will come back to you tenfold! Focus on your relationships this year, as these are the foundations on which everything else will be built on – make them strong and durable.
Taurus:
Quarter 2: The Sun
Quarter 3: The Hanged Man
Quarter 4: The Tower
A very powerful year is ahead of you, with skills developing that will change your life for the better.
Strength is the byword for the first quarter of 2016. Gird your loins and make sure you are focused and ready for all that is coming your way. There are different kinds of strengths – aggressive and bullying types and gentle, persuasive ways. To keep the people you love around you happy and secure, choose the gentle strength. Channel any anger you may feel in a situation, or at people, into a positive attitude and behaviour – make them work for YOU, not directed in anger or revenge at those that have hurt you. Learn to let go and make any fierce energies work to benefit your life. Be steadfast and steady and true. It takes a stronger person to be kind and loving in a difficult situation, but there is no doubt that outcomes to problems will be better, if you deal with them in this manner.
If you are able to control your anger and attitudes to those around you, you will find that the next quarter of the year will be full of love and gratitude for all you have around you. The Sun card is a really happy and positive card which indicates a time when all will go right for you. You will have an abundance of happiness, a harvest a-plenty, as a result of your own hard work, patience and endurance. Enjoy this lovely period of happiness, gratitude and joy! You deserve it! Well done!! This would also be an excellent time to try your hand at any hobbies or tasks you have been putting off because it is likely they will turn out well – The Sun shines its light on everything you do!
In the third quarter it seems you may have to be patient. You might want something to happen in particular or to get something moving, but the time is not right yet. If you struggle and push for what you want, the results will not be as good as you were hoping for. Stay patient and calm and submit to the wait, whilst keeping focused on the task at hand because this is an endurance test, your patience should be rewarded, if you do.
The Tower in the fourth quarter suggests that a big change in your way of life is likely to happen. Whilst this can often mean the end of a job or relationship, it can also mean a complete change of environment too. This card represents leaving the familiar behind to make a new start, perhaps a move might be a possibility. Whichever it is, this card heralds an opportunity to make a new start with secure foundations upon which you can build a more reliable and longer lasting environment for yourself, which is a positive step forward.
Aspiration: Wands (Queen of)
The suit of Wands represents all endeavours. It could be a business, travel, work or any projects you are involved in – it may even be a relationship – whichever of these is important for you this year, this is where your focus needs to be. The Queen of this suit can turn her hand to absolutely anything and excel, to be like her, and to succeed in your venture, you must put your all into it. Pay attention to detail and make sure your efforts have your fullest and most careful consideration and application.
Gemini:
Quarter 2: The Hierophant
Quarter 3: Strength
Quarter 4: The Sun
This could be a year of sorting out just exactly where you stand, mentally and emotionally, before you can reap the rewards.
Free your mind, this first quarter of the year, from whatever it is that is holding you back from doing what your heart desires. Is it fear of what people might say, or a secret delusion that you are not good enough? Where did that fear come from? Why do you feel that you are not able to change your situation? The Devil card represents an imaginary hold over your mind which stops you from doing something you want, or keeps you doing something you really want to stop. The Devil often represents addictions of all kinds, but to me this card could indicate a ground-in lack of belief in yourself and what you are capable of doing.
Free your mind of this hold, bit by bit if necessary, so that you can overcome your fears of the ‘what ifs’. You only have one life – this is not a rehearsal. Believe that you can do it! The only person stopping you from doing this is you …Whatever it is.
Having overcome the difficulty in believing that you can try anything, it is likely that learning something (even something very small) might be just the step you need to take to gain confidence. Perhaps, an affordable online course in a hobby might give you a feeling of achievement and success which could easily spur you on to much greater things. Nothing really comes to us without some sort of effort. There is plenty of help available, so talk to people and research online to find something which will suit your learning needs.
In the Strength card image we can see a figure subduing a lion, not by his sword which he has stuck in the ground, but with his bare hands. This card indicates a need to channel our energies and strengths to suit the occasion. We can very easily scream, shout and fight for what we want but that may not help us achieve the ends we deserve. There is a massive strength in patience, understanding and love. Having the ability to control our anger and hurt, and treat those around us with love and care, is much more likely to bring about rewards which will far exceed our expectations. Learning to do this is a massive achievement in itself.
So by allowing ourselves to control our own mind and body, to perhaps get some sort of small qualification and to be in control of our volatile emotions and energies is likely to bring the year to a wonderful, loving and abundant end. The Sun card in the last quarter indicates a period of happiness, joy and gratitude. Whatever you turn your hand to is successful, so it will be a great time to be creative. Enjoy this wonderful last quarter of the year. It will be a great time to reflect on how far you have come throughout the year.
Aspiration: Wands (Three of)
The suit of Wands represents your own endeavours, the fire passion and action you put into all the tasks at hand. Do you have a hobby? Is there a short course you could take to enhance your confidence in yourself to take it to the next step? Is it a hobby you could perhaps turn into a business? If you give this venture all due consideration and put the necessary effort into it, then the three card would represent early signs of success. So your aspiration should be to believe in yourself, put the effort in – and you are certainly capable of achieving wonderful things!!
Cancer:
Quarter 2: The Hermit
Quarter 3: The Chariot
Quarter 4: The Moon
This is a big year for reflection on what you want out of life and how to go about it – it is time to decide what is right for you.
Relationships are the cornerstone of the first quarter of the year for you. The Empress epitomises the nurture of those around her, the fruitful rewards she harvests by supporting loved ones with love and wisdom. In the image on the tarot card The Empress lays down her sceptre on the ground to embrace the flower which in turn grows to reach her so she needn’t stoop. What we give is what we will receive, we make the choices to enhance or hinder our own life. Choose wisely.
The second quarter of the year brings a period of quiet reflection about your needs and wants. Sometimes, time is needed to understand what you are here for, and to focus on what is really important in your life. It may also be a time of self care, to take time out to repair recent damage and get your light shining once again. It is a time to dig deep into your thoughts, and decide what your beliefs and desires are, you are only here once and you need to be focused on what it is you are here to do. It is about finding your path.
This period of reflection is likely to bring about a change of direction for you in the third quarter. The Chariot tarot card represents bringing your ‘chariot’ under control, and driving it down the path that you want to take and not letting life make it career along without direction. If there is something you want or need to do to improve your situation you will need to take hold of the reins to ensure it is done. Other people will not be able to sort this out for you. You need to take action.
The last quarter of the year is covered by The Moon. The Moon shines its beautiful light on everything but it is not as strong as the sun – there are areas which are not well-lit which means that there may be a lack of clarity in a matter you are concerned about. What you need to do in the moonlight is to learn to trust your intuition more and not allow the shadows to fool you that something not very nice is lurking there. There isn’t anything nasty in the daylight, so why should there be in the dark? All will be revealed at the right time. Trust that all is well and follow your intuition.
Aspiration: Cups (Two of)
The suit of Cups represents emotions and relationships, and sometimes ideas which have not come to manifest yet. Coupled with The Empress card earlier in the reading, this card is likely to be indicating that you might need to put more effort into your relationship with yourself, just as much with other people. The Two card would suggest a two-way street – if you open up and give, then you will get just as much in return. But the two might also indicate a partner who needs some special attention.
Leo:
Quarter 2: The Devil
Quarter 3: The High Priestess
Quarter 4: Judgement
The first quarter of the coming year is about decisions in your key relationships. What are you getting out of them? In the card image we can see two Lovers and one is walking away toward a tempting hand. But their hands reach back to each other because this is their true love. If you are making any decisions about a relationship in the first part of this year, remember that once they are gone they are gone. You cannot repair a relationship if the people involved are not around, so if you have any desire to keep this person in your life, sort the issues out now before it is too late. If it is not a decision along these lines then this card would represent the need to nurture any relationship you are in. Nothing can truly flourish and thrive without proper nourishment. Don’t neglect those you love.
In the second quarter The Devil card is prompting you to look at anything which is causing you concern or shame or that is holding you back from doing what you want to do. A lot of our beliefs and fears take hold of our minds and become dominant enough to tell us there is nothing we can do to sort out this problem. All we need to do is to get control of our thought patterns, to gain control of our life, and behaviours, once more. It is down to you to make that escape from the imaginary Devil in control of your mind.
In quarter three of the year we have hidden abilities coming to the fore. This may be a different attitude to a belief system to which you currently hold. It may be a different calling to the type of work you do or a desire for a more spiritual way of life. Just trust in your feelings and follow your intuition, for the time being – it is not meant to be clear just yet as to how this is going to manifest itself, but it will.
The last quarter of the year might just bring about the new attitude which The High Priestess portended in quarter three. The importance of this card, Judgement, is how people perceive you, and whether you have the ability to look deep into yourself to inspect your own behaviours and decide whether you are happy with yourself or not. Be prepared to reap the harvest of what you have sown – is that happiness and love? Or misery and selfishness? Be careful to make the right choice of these options, because you are likely to be the recipient of them at the end of the year.
Aspiration: Swords (King of)
The suit of Swords represents mental clarity and intellect. Is it your desire to be master of logic and intellect pure and simply? Whilst clear thinking and logical assessment are undoubtedly great things, for it not to be balanced by some emotions, at least, could be detrimental to the way people see you. The King of this suit would indicate an ability to have complete command of your thought processes, which is good, but make sure that you balance your yin and yang with some understanding, love and compassion, so that you do not become unapproachable.
Virgo:
Quarter 2: Death
Quarter 3: Justice
Quarter 4: The Tower
These cards indicate big changes for you this year – and a new direction, along with recognition of all the effort you have been putting in.
We have a crossroads for you at the start of this year – a new direction which might not be very clear to you at first, but you still have to make a choice. However, you need to know that you have all the skills you need to travel down this new road, even though you might be afraid of the unknown. Be aware of your skills of ‘knowledge’, ‘application’, ‘compassion’ and ‘capability’ and use them to maximise this new opportunity. In other words, keep your wits about you to make sensible decisions, pay attention to detail when your input is required, and put all your passion into any new opportunities, treat the people you meet with compassion and love, and respect yourself and your own abilities, by knowing yourself and how you work, so you can design and build the life/style you desire.
The Magician in the first quarter followed by the Death card, in the second, both indicate a completely new way of life for you in the first half of the coming year. Inevitably, to some extent, change can be difficult in that we are surrounded by the new and the unknown, and it can be a scary time. However, this new way of life (or living) is undoubtedly the start of a new , happier era for you – so keep your eyes and focus on what you are trying to achieve for the future.
Justice appears in the third quarter of the year which is perhaps a legal decision about something, or you have been recognised, at last, for something which you have been working on for a while. Keep your wits about you at this time and make sure you are well versed in what is being decided upon, so that you maximise the benefits for yourself. It might be, however, that finally your just rewards are being served.
The Tower in the last quarter brings about another change in your life/lifestyle. As one things ends, another begins. This is an opportunity for you to make a new start, ensuring there are strong foundations for you to build stronger and a longer-lasting new reality for you. Make sure you don’t make the same mistakes which were made in the past. This new way of life could be better than you have ever experienced before.
Aspiration: Pentacles (Ace of) The suit of Pentacles represents our material, physical situation of home or home-life in particular. It also represents our financial situation. The Ace heralds the start of a change in your fortunes and there is lots of energy around for this year. This will be good news for you, having struggled somewhat before. You will need to focus on making any financial opportunities work for you this year – utilise any money coming in wisely and build upon it so that you can feel more secure than you have done before.
Libra:
Quarter 2: The World
Quarter 3: The Magician
Quarter 4: The Wheel of Fortune
This year promises to be a wonderful year for you with happiness, choices and good surprises.
Your life is going to be so different from the way is was before. Whilst there is always some difficulty in letting the past, and the familiar and comforting go, there is always the beauty and excitement of a wonderful new beginning. The Tower card shows the old way of life crumbling away, but this means that you now have the opportunity to build a bigger and better reality for yourself than you had before. It means you can ensure you don’t make the same mistakes again and that whatever you build for yourself will be longer-lasting and much more secure. Make the most of any new opportunities which come your way.
In the second quarter of the year The World card represents success, happiness and a huge accolade for all the hard work and effort you have put in leading up to this. There is not a better card than The World card in a tarot deck to indicate that you have pretty much everything that you might need and it is a time for celebration on a big scale! Congratulations. Make sure you enjoy every moment of this wonderful time for you and your loved ones. This will be a very special time for you indeed.
The Magician brings you to a crossroads in the third quarter of the year. Yet again you are asked to head in a different direction but it is not clear, as yet, just where this road is taking you and what you will encounter on the way. It is important to understand that you have all the skills necessary to take this new journey and make it work for you. Trust in your own ability and instincts to step into the unknown and successfully navigate the next level of lifestyle.
The Wheel of Fortune indicates a change in your fortunes, usually for the better. Everything comes and goes, stops and starts and at the end of the year, The Wheel will start the beginning of a new and, hopefully, even better cycle. If you have been working hard then it is likely you will reap the rewards of your efforts. Make the most of it whilst fortune is in your favour.
Aspiration: Wands (Two of)
Wands is the suit which represents whatever it is you feel passionate about, or are tackling, at this moment in time, whether it is work or relationships. The ambition and drive you have to make things work are what sets the structure of a solid building. The two number of the cards represents the beginning of this journey and early signs of success; there is a long way to go but the signs are good, and you are not alone in your efforts, there are others beside you helping. Make sure you continue to put the effort in that you have so far, to reach the heights you desire.
Scorpio:
Quarter 2: The Moon
Quarter 3: The Hanged Man
Quarter 4: The Magician
There are big changes awaiting you this year, with a rather mystical feel to it.
The Tower falling indicates the old way of life crumbling to make way for the new. A new opportunity will be before you in the first quarter of the year. This is the time to start building a new and better reality for yourself and ensuring that the foundations you put down are strong enough to build something much longer-lasting and secure. Make sure you don’t make the same old mistakes you have in the past. This is a time for you to use your wisdom and skills to create the lifestyle you have always wanted – make the most of it, so that this new way of life will endure and grow.
The second quarter of the year is represented by The Moon tarot card – this would indicate a lack of clarity in how things are going for you for a time. Whilst this can be frustrating it is a good time to trust your intuition and open yourself to your keen senses. Things may be happening in the background that you don’t know about but trust that all things will become clear and work out for you. Take this time to become more aware of signs around you which might help you to understand the whys and wherefores of where you are heading.
In the third quarter we have The Hanged Man tarot card which would represent a time of submission, perhaps things will not be moving quickly enough for you in something you are interested in or trying to achieve. This card’s advice is to not push and struggle for a solution, because that might just manifest something that is either not right for you or not as good as you wanted it to be. For this period of time you should relax into patience, serenity, and keeping calm, until the right time has come for things to happen.
In the last quarter of the year The Magician heralds a new direction for you, you might be at a crossroads, and you may have to make a decision about something important in your life. It will be hard to make that decision, but you will have all the skills you need to make the right choice and once you are on that new road, providing you pay attention to, and learn from, the mistakes you made in the past, it is more than likely you will be successful in what you want to achieve for the future.
Aspiration: Swords (Ten of)
The suit of Swords is about mental agility and clarity. Clear thinking and logic. Sometimes our minds can create a confusion of fear that is not reality and can hold us back. If we are open and honest we will often find that things are not as bad as we feared. Sometimes we have to let something, or someone, go because it is not working for us. Once we have accepted that we can’t always have what we want, we can begin to move on. Don’t get locked into a fearful, and debilitating, state of mind by hanging on to old ways and thoughts and hankering after the old way of life. Look to the future and imagine a bright new world, and head for it straight away!
Sagittarius:
Quarter 2: The Sun
Quarter 3: The World
Quarter 4: The Devil
This year looks set to be mostly very happy and rewarding for you with two of the most positive cards in a tarot deck appearing side by side!
The first quarter of the year, for you, is represented by The Hierophant. This means you are likely to have a desire for a new belief system developing within you. You may feel that what you have believed in before now longer serves you; it may be the awakening of a spiritual side of you. You may now be looking for answers to your questions, about life, in a different place. There is lots of information around for you to research into what suits you better at this time. But don’t just take what you are told for granted, make sure you look into all aspects of this new way of thinking/believing. It may even be wise to talk to people who can help you. Utilise all the sources of knowledge available to you to make your own choice about what is the Truth.
The Sun card appears in the second quarter of the year which indicates a lovely time of happiness, rewards for all your hard work, and enjoying the fruits of the seeds you have sown in the past. This is a time to rejoice in all the good you have around you and to show gratitude for them too. Enjoy this time to the utmost, it is also a good time to try new things because The Sun will shine on everything you do! Congratulations!
The happiness that The Sun brings continues in abundance into the third quarter of the year which is represented by The World card. This is the most positive tarot card in a tarot deck! This represents a period of time where you feel you have absolutely everything that you have ever needed. Things will be going incredibly well for you, so enjoy it with all your heart and soul, and make sure you show your gratitude for all this security and love.
The last quarter of the year brings an element of worry about things that you feel a little ashamed of. It could be an addiction to a substance that you feel you need and can’t stop using, it can also represent a state of mind which leaves you fearful and somewhat unhappy. The Devil, however is a card which indicates that whatever you feel bad about is something you can control if you only decide to get to grips with and overcome it. It will be down to you to come out of these imaginary shackles which are stopping you from escaping your fears.
Aspiration: Pentacles (Knight of)
Pentacles represent your material/financial situation in your life. This year your aspiration is very likely to ensure a level of income to cover all your needs for the lifestyle you are seeking. The Knight of this suit would indicate that particular care, and slow and sure ways of making your money work for you, will pay off. The Knight would also indicate that you already have a substantial level of income that could well increase if you are careful.
Capricorn:
Quarter 2: Strength
Quarter 3: The Star
Quarter 4: The Wheel of Fortune
The overall message of these cards is that your hard work and endurance, this year, will bring the rewards you so rightly deserve. These cards speak of a steady drive through the daily/monthly trudge that will ensure you finally get your hands on that golden trophy.
The Hanged Man in the first quarter of the coming year speaks of submission to a particular situation. The more you fight or struggle to pre-empt the result, the more likely you are to bring about a result that is either not right for you, or more likely, not as good as you were hoping for. The Hanged Man accepts his situation with ease and serenity, knowing to some extent that it will be over soon, and that he will have benefitted from his experience. The first part of the year for you is likely to move quite slowly in terms of your desires, but the more serene and calm you go about your life, the more you will benefit from your endeavours.
Keeping your strong energies, feelings and emotions under control will be the focus in the second quarter. The Strength tarot card represents the skill of being able to control, and transmute, anger and hurt into energies which will work better for you in the long run. This card can advise us not to be sucked into the murky waters of pride and conceit; and it asks us to examine just how easy it is to flare up at, and bullishly blow out of the water, the people that have hurt us. This card asks us to tread carefully, to opt for better ways – to not use the harsh weapons at our fingertips, but the much more softer and durable weapon of patience and love, that we are all capable of using, to combat a difficult situation. By learning to do this we discover a reservoir of strength which is more powerful by far.
In the third quarter you may be feeling that there is little sight of what you were hoping to achieve, that it is all a waste of time, and a period, perhaps, of low ebb for a while. The Star indicates that very soon all will be revealed if we don’t give up. The Star encourages to plod on, gazing at that pin prick of light which is our goal. We need to carry on, to keep adding that drop to the ocean – nobody ever really achieves anything without effort, and the boring, and, what seems like wasted, time before the successes start rolling in. Keep at it – you are nearly there.
The Wheel of Fortune brings about what you have been working for the year round. A piece of good fortune and all your effort looks set to pay off with a wonderful turnabout! Seize the day and make it work for you – these chances come once in a while, and when you least expect it. Be ready to jump onto this one and maximise its potential.
Aspiration: Pentacles (Two of)
The suit of Pentacles is about your material/financial standing in your life. This is a key area for you to work with this coming year to ensure that your income increases steadily so that you can enjoy the lifestyle you desire. The two numbered card indicates that a partnership of some sort might well be on offer to you which will help you overcome some difficulties, accept help whenever you can. Money can always make money, so be clever with what you have.
Aquarius:
Quarter 1: The Wheel of Fortune
Quarter 2: The Magician
Quarter 3: Death
Quarter 4: The Empress
Big changes are on the cards for you in 2016. Maybe the old style of life is going to be changing for the better!
A period of good fortune is on the cards for the first quarter of the coming year, as indicated by The Wheel of Fortune, which is great news. Make the most of this opportunity because The Wheel of Fortune can turn again at any time. Seize this opportunity with both hands and enjoy the ride!! Make the most of this opportunity and ensure that, whatever this change in fortune brings, it works for you to the maximum.
The Magician in the second quarter of the year heralds a crossroads appearing before you. You will need to make a decision as to which road to take; this could be difficult, because it will not be clear which is the right one for you to take. But the decision is yours, so, understand that you have all the skills necessary to make this journey a success, trust your instincts, and believe in yourself and your native abilities, so that this new road takes you to where you want to go.
In the third quarter the Death card makes an appearance. Something will be gone, it may be your career path, a relationship or friendship, or even a change in where you live, or the way you have been living in the past. The Death card indicates the old way is over, and losing that which is familiar can be scary but this means bright new beginnings are on the horizon, and, if we learn from our mistakes in the past, we are likely to have a much happier future. Embrace this new way of life fully, so that this new beginning grows into something you will love with all your heart.
The Empress brings the focus to family life, any relationship with has a mother/child dynamic in it, in the last quarter of the year. Her appearance may herald an addition to the family, or just the need to nurture those around you. The Empress is strong, wise and steady, she knows how to reign over her kingdom without arrogance, she would advise patience and understanding. She represents the fruitfulness of nurturing the family and would indicate a time of rewarding relationships. Enjoy.
Aspiration: Wands (Page of)
Wands are the tarot suit which represent our endeavours and passions, the activity and effort, we put into whatever we are trying to achieve at a given time. This would suggest that the focus this year for you is the passion you have for what you work with, and who you love. The Page of this suit suggests a possible new era/potential for the things you are involved in, that they have the possibility to expand and grow. The Page would advise not rushing anything but taking things step by step as they evolve, to seek out help and guidance, and to stay true to your goal even if people think you might not achieve it. This is an exciting time of growth and opportunity for you.
Pisces:
Quarter 2: The Tower
Quarter 3: The High Priestess
Quarter 4: The Wheel of Fortune
There are big changes for you this coming year, and changes in your attitude about life in general, and the way you approach it, might be the catalyst.
In the first quarter of the year it seems as though your patterns of belief about life are changing. You may be trying to find a new way of understanding why you are here, and what you are meant to do. Maybe you are looking for something that can help you with a code of conduct to live by, or to just make sense of the things that happen in life. There is plenty of information you can access in books, and so much information on the internet, which may help you find what it is that will be a coping mechanism for you. It may be that you need to speak to someone who you would consider a suitable mentor, or advisor, who could help. The Hierophant would advise you to not just accept what you see, hear or read, and then follow that belief blindly, but to research around it so that you fully understand what it entails and that you are happy and proud to be part of that belief system.
This may well lead to a complete change in your life/lifestyle as The Tower in the second quarter represents the old way of doing things being no longer in your life. Whilst losing that which is familiar and comforting is sometimes a scary thing, The Tower heralds the opportunity to build a bright new lifestyle built on strong foundations which will bring much more security and longevity of lifestyle, which is a wonderful thing. Keep your eyes firmly fixed on the future that you want and work to achieve it.
In the third quarter of the year hidden talents are likely to be emerging. More often than not The High Priestess represents the emergence of a more spiritual nature or desire, with the awakening, or honing, of your intuitive abilities. It will not be fully clear in what way this will develop but there will surely be an unknown destiny starting to come to the fore. Be alert and look for signs which will indicate the tuning-up of your senses and feelings for things unseen and unknown, which are calling out to you.
The last quarter of the year brings a change in fortune for the better!! The Wheel of Fortune will at last turn for your benefit. It usually indicates an upturn in your financial situation but it might manifest in something like a promotion or a new job. It may even be that someone influential comes into your life who can help you. It is important to seize this with both hands and make the most of it when it happens, because The Wheel can turn again at any time. You will certainly feel like things are heading for better times, so make it work for you by not making the same mistakes you made in the past.
Aspiration: Wands (Knight of)
The suit of Wands represents action, passion, effort, ambition and the drive we put into any task we are tackling. It seems that there are things you need to know about yourself, and try to get to grips with, it may even be a spiritual adventure that you are looking for. Use all your skills to get to know yourself – examine your feelings, your thoughts, the way your body reacts to certain things to get to know whether it’s your ego, or your intuition, in charge of the tasks at hand. This will help you decide which way you would like to go. The Knight of this suit would indicate the maturing of an attitude which will stand you in good stead.
