Cleansing your tarot deck. Is it really necessary?

Cleansing your tarot deck is something that is widely advised, and quite rightly so, but just recently I keep getting the feeling my deck doesn’t want it!

I do believe that constant use of a given thing can fill it with one’s energy and life.  I feel like the more I use my tarot deck it seems to get charged up with an indescribable energy which can be very productive, and, so, sometimes I feel it’s a shame to clear the deck.

Since the deck is held by me, regardless of what, and who, the readings have been for, I feel like my positive energies and optimism is relished by my deck (sounds crazy I know!) and sometimes it feels like it can buzz!  But I have been clearing between readings (especially for different people) and I am beginning to wonder whether I should still do this.  If I do all readings with love, and if I am connecting with the collective unconscious, then these are the energies pervading my cards, and I quite like the idea that my deck is being charged constantly with love from me and knowledge from the Universe!

When I have cleansed the deck it honestly feels a bit lifeless, like I am starting from zero point again, and now I think I should make a judgement call on how often and, more importantly, why my deck might need cleansing/clearing.

If my deck is used constantly by me it should understand my energy vibration, and that the reading is coming from me, through Universal and higher energies, although the question is somebody else’s.  With distance readings, I can understand that energies are used to connect but is it really likely that my deck will pick up negative energies from that?

I am going to test over the next few weeks whether my deck improves with constant use, without cleansing, to see if there is a significant difference.  To see if it is working through, and for, me and to see whether the bond becomes stronger or not.

Perhaps you have gone through this thought process already?  Did you have any results?  Do you cleanse your deck or not?
