I am getting quite a few complimentary comments on my blogs (thank you, lovely peeps!), and generally I have plenty to talk about. But when you are expected to blog regularly, there are days when you draw a blogging blank!
If I don’t have a burning issue which is scorching my brain, I need to look for inspiration. But I am lucky, because I have a deck of tarot cards! ‘What has that got to do with it?’ I hear you muttering………well, all I have to do is shuffle the deck and pull out two or three cards and see what they make me think of or what they are trying to tell me.
The beauty of tarot cards is that they are all fundamentally about aspects of life, the good, the bad and the damn well ugly and they can immediately bring to mind many an experience that is worth the telling – and to be honest anyone could try it!
As an example today I have drawn three tarot cards: Five of Pentacles, Eight of Pentacles and the Seven of Wands. I could take any one of those cards, read the short meaning and think of an experience or work with a thought that comes to mind; I can use them all and see what they are trying to talk to me about. I will use all three today!
In a nutshell the Five of Pentacles is about anxiety around money issues and feeling worried for the financial future, the Eight of Pentacles talks about running with a new idea that can make money – with some research and effort it is something that might make a difference to a dire situation, the Seven of Wands represents being tired and bored of the present situation, undertaking or venture. Now, what these cards are basically saying – OK, you have money worries, you can get a better job or research on that idea for a business you had, so there is plenty of work you can do to sort out your problem. But if you wallow around in self pity and boredom, nothing is going to change…….the solution is in your own hands – get to it!! And do you know what? They are right! And it has given me a thought!
When we were younger my husband and I were struggling with money issues and we had three young daughters. We had to change things. I won’t bore you with the details, but part of the deal for a better way of life was to move away to the other end of the country for a new job my husband had found with more money, we were coming away from family support, he had to learn to drive, I had to transfer my job, find school for the children and child minding care for my littlest sprog. You don’t get any big changes without being prepared to put in the effort (scary though it is). Well we made those changes and we still live in that place at the other end of the country that we moved to! It was a change that was necessary, it was scary and very hard work on every level, but it really was worth it. It changed our lives for the better. And what this little story is demonstrating how tarot cards really can give sensible advice which is at least worth considering, especially if you are having problems. Sometimes we can’t see the wood for the trees and just a little prompt from somewhere can make all the difference.
I don’t actually need that advice from the cards any more, because we have been there and done that. But you see how these three pretty insignificant little tarot cards have given me the bones for a blog? Clever eh? And this blog probably only took me half an hour.
Maybe you should try it one day………need a deck of tarot cards?
Patricia 🙂
